I'm not sure I understand how PMKzeta which blocks memories could be used to strengthen memories. The article seemed to suggest that it could be helpful for people with dementia and Alzheimer's.
ReplyDeleteThe findings in this area of research bring up a great deal of ethical issues. If memory as we have seen allows us to create relationships to the world, to accumulate knowledge, to ultimately create the story that in essence is our history and idea of who we are, I think the implications of meddling with this, even in terms of treating trauma or disease could be really harmful long-term.
